McGregor’s Return Completes Four Car Sprint Challenge Effort in Tassie

Ross McGregor’s return at Ashley Seward Motorsport completes a four-car effort for the team at round two of Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge at Symmons Plains Raceway.

Matt Slavin, Andrew Goldie and Tim Wolfe all return from the opening round at Phillip Island. McGregor missed the season-opening event, but the Sprint Challenge stalwart eagerly returns for the series’ first visit to Tasmania since 2019.

Both Goldie and McGregor were present when that trip occurred, with Goldie winning two races in Class B and McGregor claiming two third place finishes in Pro-Am. For Slavin and Wolfe, it will be their first experience at the 2.41km circuit.

Slavin, who debuted in 2022, will be carrying increasing confidence as he started the 2023 season with his second podium finish in just three rounds. Goldie pushed Slavin all the way, coming home just behind in fourth place, and the pair will be looking to reignite that battle again this weekend. After a strong debut weekend in which Wolfe pressured his more experienced West Australian teammate in Goldie, the rookie will be one to watch again.

The weekend features a busy Friday schedule, with two practice sessions and qualifying all taking place on day one. Saturday will feature the two 25-minute sprint races before the 40-minute enduro cup race on Sunday. All three races will be broadcast live on Fox Sports and Kayo.
