Adelaide 500 Opportunity Unmissable for Taylor

Scott Taylor will tackle the streets of Adelaide aboard his Porsche GT3R in Trophy Class, for the final round of the 2022 Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Championship.

Taylor has contested two GT rounds so far in 2022, emerging victorious on both occasions. The first was at the Bathurst 12 Hour where alongside Craig Lowndes, Alex Davison and Geoff Emery, the team took first place in Class C. The second came at Taylor’s home race at Queensland Raceway, with victory in race two earning Taylor the overall round victory.

Taylor has raced in Adelaide on four prior occasions, twice in the Australian GT Championship and twice in Carrera Cup competition. The Wednesday prior to the event will also see Taylor join the Driving Solutions Track Day around the circuit, logging laps in his road going Porsche GT3.

“It’s a really cool track in a cool city, it’s not an event you want to miss,” said Taylor.

“Looking at the calendar there’s some really fun places to go to, Gold Coast, Townsville and Darwin are some of the others. They’re the events I really enjoy, which is all the reason I go racing.

“It’s great to have some more cars on the grid and some more competition in Trophy Class this weekend, the more the merrier. The car looks great as always, it’s been rebuilt since our last race with it, so we had a shakedown at Queensland Raceway which went well.”

The format for the final round of the season is unique to what has been contested so far in 2022. The weekend will comprise of three 40-minute sprints, as opposed to the regular dual 60 minute races for sprint rounds.
