Ashley Seward Motorsport: Bathurst 12 Hour Preview

The Bathurst 12 Hour takes place this weekend, and ASM will prepare and run the Scott Taylor Motorsport Pro Class entry.

Featuring Craig Lowndes, Cameron Waters and Thomas Randle, the all-star line-up will pose a serious threat for the overall honours. STM have also continued their partnership with the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, with supporters encouraged to donate via the following link – www.pcfa222stm.org

Donations can also be made at the track, at the #222 garage via EFTPOS or via QR code.

It’s the third year in a row that ASM have ran the STM entry in the Bathurst 12 Hour, kicking off with the Class C victory in the 2022 edition of the race aboard a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Car. The team moved to a Pro-Am entry in 2023, racing a Mercedes AMG GT3, with that car now upgraded to the current specification ready for the all-Pro attack.

Lowndes is etched in Bathurst folklore, a winner of the Bathurst 12 Hour on two occasions, adding to his seven Bathurst 1000 triumphs. Waters has started the 12 Hour on two occasions, including a strong seventh outright on debut in 2018. It will be the first start in Australia’s International Endurance Race for Randle, but he’s coming off the back of a strong Supercars season and has four Bathurst 1000 starts to his name.

The STM entry will be one of 10 Pro Class cars, part of a 30-car field in total, filled to the brim with local and international talent.

While the race kicks off at 5:45am AEDT on Sunday morning, STM and the ASM crew will have four practice sessions to prepare themselves. There are six practice sessions for the event in total, but two are reserved for bronze drivers only.

Following qualifying on Saturday afternoon, there will be a top 10 shootout where drivers will vie for the coveted pole position.
